Shadow Drawing

Learning Goals: Fine motor skills, Art skills.

Put a big piece of white paper on the wall or the ground beside the window on a sunny day.

Give students some toys and ask them to trace the shadow of these objects on the paper.

The interest in drawing came from the children and their play. The educator used this concept to support an inquiry by providing different materials, introducing new concepts (shadow and light), and connecting the play to science through drawing.
